FREE GOLDEN Virtual Demo- Dive Into Color

A Free GOLDEN Artist Colors Virtual Conversation and Demonstration - discover the possibilities of acrylic color! This event focuses on GOLDEN’s acrylic paint lines, giving you a broad understanding of each type, with a special focus on the colors that make up these lines. During our session, we will do a deep dive into the characteristics of color - including chroma, transparency, value, tinting strength, sheen and masstone/undertone - and what that means for your painting. We’ll discuss the difference between mineral and modern pigments and how they affect color mixing, and explore the qualities and effects of working with a range of primaries and color wheels. We'll show you how to use our Virtual Color Mixer, and look at the histories and characteristics of major pigment families such as Ochres, Cadmiums, Cobalts, Quinacridones and Phthalos. We’ll explore the specialty paint lines - including Iridescent, Interference, and Fluorescents - and break down the difference between the white and black pigments. We’ll give you tips on finding your own personal palette, share some of our own favourite colors, and give you an overview of the wide range of techniques that each paint line can be used for. Finally, we’ll provide tips for speeding up or slowing down your paint’s drying time, and give you an understanding of how to modify your paint’s sheen, texture and drying time using GOLDEN additives, mediums and gels.
