Learn how to use paint in a whole new way in this eight week workshop!
This class will teach you how to create acrylic skins - paint films not attached to a support - and use them in innovative ways to create both mixed media pieces and sculpture. Explore a variety of Golden paints, gels, mediums and pastes, and use them to make acrylic skins by spreading, dripping, drawing and pouring them onto non-stick surfaces. Experiment with creating skins that are multi-layered, embedded with items like mica and cheesecloth, are transferred images, and ones that emulate stained glass. Once dry, peel, cut, slice, sew, glue, mold, sculpt and collage these skins to create exciting works of art.
Discover the huge possibilities of working with acrylic skins, get a better understanding of acrylic paints and mediums, and learn a whole new way to use paint!
Cost: $475 (taxes and transactions fees included). Supports required. All other materials included- including Golden paints, gels, pastes, grounds, and mixed media supplies.
