This weekend workshop will give you a solid foundation in color that goes beyond theory into pigment reality. Go deep into color concepts through a series of fun, experimental exercises, and apply that knowledge to create four abstract painting. Learn all about:
-the different kinds of pigments and how their differences effect saturation, sheen, transparency, and clean color mixing
- working with a variety of mineral and modern primary colors to mix a huge range of hues
- pigment families, and their unique characteristics
- the differences between the white and black colors- working with different colors to create a range of tints and shades
- the gorgeous Iridescent and Interference paints
- using modern colors to produce luminous earth tones
- working with gels and mediums to achieve different transparencies and consistencies, glazing, and rich layers
- techniques such as pouring, staining, and hard edge painting
